In Iowa, Vice President Pence describes lack of gatherings as “a source of heartache.”
As President Trump and Vice President Pence return to traveling around the country, the vice president made a recent stop in the Des Moines area of Iowa to speak to local faith leaders and politicians. He offered empathy and encouragement to the group, about a dozen of whom gathered at the Church of the Way Presbyterian church in Urbandale. “It’s been a source of heartache for people across the country,” Vice President Pence said.
Although he expressed sorrow at the situation, the vice president also said that efforts to move services to online platforms during the stay-at-home order has “made incalculable difference in our nation seeing our way through these troubled times.” The state of Iowa will be one of the first states to allow a semi-reopening of church services, letting public religious gatherings resume while maintaining social distancing and proper daily sanitation techniques.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That Vice President Mike Pence would be effective in his endeavors this coming week.
- For religious leaders across the country as they wrestle with how to care for their congregations both spiritually and physically.
- That the Lord would bring healing to the nation and hasten the end of the pandemic.
